Junior Tennis Lessons in Spring, TX

Our Junior Academy is the Green and Yellow stages, played on faster balls and the full court. Green is usually ages 10 to 12 and Yellow is the full ball, but placement follows level rather than age: some players reach yellow at 10, and a beginner arriving at 16 may start further back. Juniors train in small groups from one to five days a week on technique, footwork, fitness, and the mental side of the game.

  • Rivera Tennis academy is the best of the best when it comes to Tennis lesson. My son started his lessons here in late August taking private lessons under Coach Devin!! This is the first of any sport my son is playing and we were bit unsure how he might like it. Coach Devin has proved us that these were just our mere concerns. Our son has thrived under Coach Devin’s leadership and training. He is soo patient with our son and works with him at his level. It’s only been few months but our son has come a long way in the world of tennis. Coach Devin is also a very kind and respectful young man! Thank you Ivett for assigning him as our son’s coach. You will never get judged here at the court. Everyone encourages and is kind to each other.

  • I seriously wish I had found this place YEARS ago. They have great dedicated coaches who focus on technique while still making sure everyone in the class has a good time. Students are given time with different coaches (including conditioning!) And often get one-on-one attention. The biggest plus for me is that my kids and I can have our own classes at the same time...so everyone wins!

Common questions

Junior Tennis Lessons: common questions

How much do junior tennis lessons cost in Spring, TX?

Junior Tennis Lessons run from $88 to $484 per month, one day a week to five. The full price list shows every package, and you can call (855) 556-0450 if you want help picking one.

What ages and levels join junior tennis lessons?

Juniors are ages 10 to 18, from first-time beginners to ranked tournament players. Groups are small and sorted by age and level, and juniors train one to five days per week. Because placement follows level as much as age, an adult sometimes trains in a junior group where that is the right standard — call and we will tell you which group fits.

How many players are in a junior group?

Six players per court, and up to ten in total when one coach runs two courts side by side.

Can juniors compete without long drives across Houston?

Yes. We host UTR tournaments and a Spring Circuit on our courts at Forest Oaks Swim & Racquet Club, so juniors play rated matches where they train and their coaches watch from courtside.

Can we try it before we enrol?

Yes. A new player gets a free 30 minute tryout so you can see the group and the coaching first. Call Ivett on (732) 678-7708 to book it. After that, a weekly place is the way most families carry on.

Where do junior tennis lessons take place?

Every lesson runs on our hard courts at Forest Oaks Swim & Racquet Club, 19023 Joanleigh Dr, Spring, TX 77388.

Who teaches junior tennis lessons at Rivera Tennis Academy?

Our coaching team is led by Alfredo Rivera, a former ATP and Davis Cup player from Chile with more than 30 years of coaching experience and USPTA and PTR certification. The junior groups are taken by Devin Mendez, a top 50 national USTA player carrying a UTR of 9; Sebastian Trujillo, a Level 2 RSPA coach who played ITF juniors and was a hitting partner at the ATP Houston 250; and Asiria Martinez, an RSPA-certified coach who captained her high school team to four district titles. What each of them brings to a lesson is on the tennis team page.

How do I book junior tennis lessons?

Call Rivera Tennis Academy at (855) 556-0450 or send a message through the contact page. Tell us the age, the level and the times that work for you. Junior Tennis Lessons run Mon–Fri 5:00–7:00 PM.
