Tennis Lessons in The Woodlands, TX

The Woodlands is 10.3 miles from the courts, about 15 minutes down I-45. The Woodlands runs as a township: eight villages over 43.9 square miles, dedicated by George Mitchell in 1974 and still unincorporated after residents voted incorporation down in November 2021. Seven villages sit in Montgomery County; Creekside Park sits in Harris, which matters more than it sounds. It is also one of the shortest drives on our list.

Getting here

From The Woodlands to the courts

Down I-45 and off at exit 68, signed Louetta, Cypresswood and Holzwarth. Stay on the southbound feeder, then right on Greenforest Drive into Enchanted Oaks. Black Forest, Weeping Oaks, left on Joanleigh. From the west villages there is a freeway-free option: Kuykendahl runs unbroken from FM 1488 south into Harris County, so you can drop down it instead of merging.

Around The Woodlands

Playing out of The Woodlands

The Woodlands is not short of courts. The Township runs 80 across 27 parks, open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and bookable up to 24 hours ahead through its own portal, with peak and non-peak, resident and non-resident rates. Bear Branch at 5205 Research Forest Drive has nine on its own. What all that gets you is a court, not a coach.

Conroe ISD covers nearly all of The Woodlands. Two exceptions matter when you are building a week: Creekside Park, the Harris County village, is zoned to Tomball ISD, and May Valley in Sterling Ridge falls in Magnolia ISD.

  • Rivera Tennis academy is the best of the best when it comes to Tennis lesson. My son started his lessons here in late August taking private lessons under Coach Devin!! This is the first of any sport my son is playing and we were bit unsure how he might like it. Coach Devin has proved us that these were just our mere concerns. Our son has thrived under Coach Devin’s leadership and training. He is soo patient with our son and works with him at his level. It’s only been few months but our son has come a long way in the world of tennis. Coach Devin is also a very kind and respectful young man! Thank you Ivett for assigning him as our son’s coach. You will never get judged here at the court. Everyone encourages and is kind to each other.

  • I seriously wish I had found this place YEARS ago. They have great dedicated coaches who focus on technique while still making sure everyone in the class has a good time. Students are given time with different coaches (including conditioning!) And often get one-on-one attention. The biggest plus for me is that my kids and I can have our own classes at the same time...so everyone wins!

  • I can't say enough great things about this Rivera Tennis Academy! The coaches here are absolutely wonderful—each one brings a unique combination of expertise, passion, and positivity that makes learning both fun and effective. They truly care about the progress of each player, providing personalized attention and guidance tailored to individual needs. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, the coaches are always there to motivate you, offer constructive feedback, and help you achieve your goals. The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive, and I always leave feeling more confident in my skills. I highly recommend this academy to anyone looking to improve their tennis game or to even learn the game of tennis. Cheers-Tony
