Kids Tennis Lessons in Spring, TX

Our kids program is Mini Tennis: the Red and Orange stages, named for the low-compression balls they play with. Those balls bounce lower and travel slower, so children rally from their first class. Red is usually ages 4 to 8 and Orange 8 to 12 - but a player is placed by level, not by birthday, so a beginner arriving at 12 starts in Orange like anyone else.

$88–$484 per month, one day a week to five

We coach Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Sunday, private lessons by arrangement.

  • Rivera Tennis academy is the best of the best when it comes to Tennis lesson. My son started his lessons here in late August taking private lessons under Coach Devin!! This is the first of any sport my son is playing and we were bit unsure how he might like it. Coach Devin has proved us that these were just our mere concerns. Our son has thrived under Coach Devin’s leadership and training. He is soo patient with our son and works with him at his level. It’s only been few months but our son has come a long way in the world of tennis. Coach Devin is also a very kind and respectful young man! Thank you Ivett for assigning him as our son’s coach. You will never get judged here at the court. Everyone encourages and is kind to each other.

  • I seriously wish I had found this place YEARS ago. They have great dedicated coaches who focus on technique while still making sure everyone in the class has a good time. Students are given time with different coaches (including conditioning!) And often get one-on-one attention. The biggest plus for me is that my kids and I can have our own classes at the same time...so everyone wins!

Common questions

Kids Tennis Lessons: common questions

How much do kids tennis lessons cost in Spring, TX?

Kids Tennis Lessons run from $88 to $484 per month, one day a week to five. The full price list shows every package, and you can call (855) 556-0450 if you want help picking one.

What ages are the kids tennis lessons for?

Kids classes are Mini Tennis: a Red group and an Orange group, named after the ball each plays with. Red is usually 4 to 8 and Orange 8 to 12, though a player is placed by level rather than birthday. Both use low-compression balls, which bounce lower and travel slower, so children can rally on their very first day. We place your child by stage, not by birthday.

How long is a kids class, and how many children are in it?

Classes run 1 hour, 1.5 hours or 2 hours, and the price follows the length — the price table is laid out the same way. Four and five year olds often start on a 30 minute class. Mini Tennis is capped at 6 players per coach.

Does my child need their own racquet to start?

Not to start. We keep racquets in every size on court, including the small ones, along with the soft balls. When your child is ready for their own you can buy it here: we are an authorized Babolat dealer, we will fit the right size, and we string racquets on site.

Can we try it before we enrol?

Yes. A new player gets a free 30 minute tryout so you can see the group and the coaching first. Call Ivett on (732) 678-7708 to book it. After that, a weekly place is the way most families carry on.

Where do kids tennis lessons take place?

Every lesson runs on our hard courts at Forest Oaks Swim & Racquet Club, 19023 Joanleigh Dr, Spring, TX 77388.

Who teaches kids tennis lessons at Rivera Tennis Academy?

Our coaching team is led by Alfredo Rivera, a former ATP and Davis Cup player from Chile with more than 30 years of coaching experience and USPTA and PTR certification. The kids groups are taken by Perla Gomez, who holds a degree in Preschool Education and specialises in the red and orange stages, and by Asiria Martinez, an RSPA-certified coach who grew up training here. What each of them brings to a lesson is on the tennis team page.

How do I book kids tennis lessons?

Call Rivera Tennis Academy at (855) 556-0450 or send a message through the contact page. Tell us the age, the level and the times that work for you. Kids Tennis Lessons run Mon & Fri 5:00–7:00 PM.
