Kingwood is 14,000 acres in the northeast corner of Harris County, laid out from 1971 by King Ranch and Friendswood Development, an Exxon subsidiary. It calls itself the Livable Forest: villages instead of subdivisions, more than 75 miles of hike and bike trail. Houston annexed the whole of it at 11:59 PM on December 31, 1996. It sits on the East Fork of the San Jacinto, with boat access to Lake Houston.

Out of Kingwood on Kingwood Drive or Northpark Drive to US 59, north to the Grand Parkway, then west on TX-99: a tolled 13.7 miles from 59 to I-45, open since March 29, 2016. South on I-45 to exit 68, Cypresswood Drive, then west to the club. FM 1960 west is the free alternative.

Two things worth knowing. Northpark Drive is a construction zone: it is being widened to a six-lane divided road between US 59 and Russell Palmer Road and lifted over the Union Pacific tracks and Loop 494, a $76.8 million job due to finish in the fourth quarter of 2026, with traffic shifted onto new lanes as the work moves. And the Harris–Montgomery county line runs straight through the Kingwood Park High campus.
Kingwood pupils in Harris County are in Humble ISD; the Montgomery County corner is New Caney ISD. There are two Humble ISD high schools here, Kingwood High and Kingwood Park, which opened in 2007 at 4015 Woodland Hills Drive.

Rivera Tennis academy is the best of the best when it comes to Tennis lesson. My son started his lessons here in late August taking private lessons under Coach Devin!! This is the first of any sport my son is playing and we were bit unsure how he might like it. Coach Devin has proved us that these were just our mere concerns. Our son has thrived under Coach Devin’s leadership and training. He is soo patient with our son and works with him at his level. It’s only been few months but our son has come a long way in the world of tennis. Coach Devin is also a very kind and respectful young man! Thank you Ivett for assigning him as our son’s coach. You will never get judged here at the court. Everyone encourages and is kind to each other.

I seriously wish I had found this place YEARS ago. They have great dedicated coaches who focus on technique while still making sure everyone in the class has a good time. Students are given time with different coaches (including conditioning!) And often get one-on-one attention. The biggest plus for me is that my kids and I can have our own classes at the same time...so everyone wins!
