Tennis Lessons in Humble, TX

Humble is 14.2 miles from the courts, about a 30 minute drive. Say it UM-bul, the H silent. Humble sits eighteen miles northeast of Houston, where the Eastex Freeway — US 59 — crosses FM 1960, and it is named for Pleasant S. Humble, who arrived before the Civil War and ran a ferry on the San Jacinto River. Oil made the place: by 1905 the Humble oilfield was the largest producing field in Texas. Our courts are the other way, west of I-45 in Spring.

Around Humble

Playing out of Humble

If you want to hit locally between sessions, the city keeps two tennis courts at Hirsch Memorial Park, 100 North Houston Avenue, open from 7:00 AM until dark. One local oddity: the FM 1960 business loop through central Humble, which runs as Humble Westfield Road and First Street, is one of only three business Farm-to-Market routes in Texas.

Humble ISD covers the city along with Fall Creek, Kingwood and Atascocita, which is unincorporated, sits about six miles east and counted 88,174 people at the 2020 census. Six high schools: Humble, Atascocita, Summer Creek, Kingwood, Kingwood Park and Sconzo Early College.

  • Rivera Tennis academy is the best of the best when it comes to Tennis lesson. My son started his lessons here in late August taking private lessons under Coach Devin!! This is the first of any sport my son is playing and we were bit unsure how he might like it. Coach Devin has proved us that these were just our mere concerns. Our son has thrived under Coach Devin’s leadership and training. He is soo patient with our son and works with him at his level. It’s only been few months but our son has come a long way in the world of tennis. Coach Devin is also a very kind and respectful young man! Thank you Ivett for assigning him as our son’s coach. You will never get judged here at the court. Everyone encourages and is kind to each other.

  • I seriously wish I had found this place YEARS ago. They have great dedicated coaches who focus on technique while still making sure everyone in the class has a good time. Students are given time with different coaches (including conditioning!) And often get one-on-one attention. The biggest plus for me is that my kids and I can have our own classes at the same time...so everyone wins!

  • I can't say enough great things about this Rivera Tennis Academy! The coaches here are absolutely wonderful—each one brings a unique combination of expertise, passion, and positivity that makes learning both fun and effective. They truly care about the progress of each player, providing personalized attention and guidance tailored to individual needs. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, the coaches are always there to motivate you, offer constructive feedback, and help you achieve your goals. The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive, and I always leave feeling more confident in my skills. I highly recommend this academy to anyone looking to improve their tennis game or to even learn the game of tennis. Cheers-Tony
