Tennis Lessons in New Caney, TX

New Caney is 20 miles from the courts, about 27 minutes. New Caney sits on I-69/US 59 where the Grand Parkway crosses, and the interchange is the point: Segment G opened on March 29, 2016 and connects I-69/US 59 here with I-45 near Spring, which is the road to our courts. The place itself is unincorporated — Montgomery County, no city hall of its own — with Porter, Porter Heights, Roman Forest, Woodbranch and Patton Village around it.

Around New Caney

Playing out of New Caney

Loop 494 is the local road. It is the old US 59, designated as a loop on October 2, 1970 after US 59 was moved to the Eastex Freeway extension into Montgomery County, and it still runs parallel to I-69 for 9.7 miles through Kingwood, Porter and New Caney. New Caney ISD's headquarters sit on it at 21580, not on the freeway. Roman Forest and Woodbranch are incorporated cities; New Caney is not.

New Caney ISD covers most of what rolls up to this page: New Caney and Porter, much of Porter Heights, and the cities of Roman Forest and Woodbranch. Patton Village is the exception, zoned to Splendora ISD instead. Four high schools, so families here are not all working around the same campus.

  • Rivera Tennis academy is the best of the best when it comes to Tennis lesson. My son started his lessons here in late August taking private lessons under Coach Devin!! This is the first of any sport my son is playing and we were bit unsure how he might like it. Coach Devin has proved us that these were just our mere concerns. Our son has thrived under Coach Devin’s leadership and training. He is soo patient with our son and works with him at his level. It’s only been few months but our son has come a long way in the world of tennis. Coach Devin is also a very kind and respectful young man! Thank you Ivett for assigning him as our son’s coach. You will never get judged here at the court. Everyone encourages and is kind to each other.

  • I seriously wish I had found this place YEARS ago. They have great dedicated coaches who focus on technique while still making sure everyone in the class has a good time. Students are given time with different coaches (including conditioning!) And often get one-on-one attention. The biggest plus for me is that my kids and I can have our own classes at the same time...so everyone wins!

  • I can't say enough great things about this Rivera Tennis Academy! The coaches here are absolutely wonderful—each one brings a unique combination of expertise, passion, and positivity that makes learning both fun and effective. They truly care about the progress of each player, providing personalized attention and guidance tailored to individual needs. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, the coaches are always there to motivate you, offer constructive feedback, and help you achieve your goals. The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive, and I always leave feeling more confident in my skills. I highly recommend this academy to anyone looking to improve their tennis game or to even learn the game of tennis. Cheers-Tony
